Health facilities in State derailed: Raj Babbar

Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of providing poor health services to people in Chhattisgarh, actor-turned politician and Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) President Raj Babbar said that the condition of the health services are in pathetic state here.


Talking to mediapersons at Rajiv Bhawan here on Saturday, he said that there are lack of doctors, nurses and other medical staffs in the government-run hospitals of the state.
The UPCC President further alleged that health system in the state is in the ICU. The BJP government has not been able to set up a well-equipped hospital in Bastar region for treatments of the jawans getting injured in the battle with naxals, so that the private hospitals are benefited. Six medical colleges and sickle cell institute in Chhattisgarh are facing acute shortage of staff. There are only 53 specialist doctors against 893 sanctioned posts. 517 post of doctors lying vacant against 1,379 sanctioned posts, he added.


Replying to a query on Naxal problem, he said that the Naxal problem could be only resolved through dialogue instead of bullets. At first, it is necessary to identify the reasons as to why people have chosen the path of violence and take necessary measures to solve it, he added.  Raj Babbar was here to campaign for the Congress candidates in Rajnandgaon district.
