Two Chhindwara men arrested with 22 bundles of dummy currency notes

Jaripatka police have arrested two Chhindwara men from Sapna lodge in Sitabuldi area for cheating a citizen on the promise of double the currency. The cops have seized Rs 97,000 cash and 22 bundles of dummy currency notes from their possession. The accused have been identified as Rajendra Nashine and Hemant Bhakte, both residents of Ramakona in Chhindawara district of Madhya Pradesh.


The accused met complainant Manoj Dashrath Jarele (35), a resident of Plot No. 122, Kushi Nagar on Friday near Lal godown and promised that they would double the currency as they are in a contact with a senior RBI official.  When Manoj had given Rs 10,000 to Nashine, he handed over a bundle of Rs 100 notes wrapped to him. When Manoj went home and found the bundle filled with dummy currency notes, he lodged a complaint at Jaripatka police station.


During investigation, a team of Jaripatka police led by PSI Shivshankar Khedkar arrested the accused from Sapna lodge in Sitabuldi and recovered 22 bundles of bogus currency notes and Rs 97,000 cash from their possession. The accused have been booked under Sections 420, 419 and 34 of IPC. PSI Khedkar informed that Nashine and Bhakte were accused in a cheating case reported in Mauda Police Station, he said.
