Jabalpur’s Lady Elgin Hospital bags ‘LaQshya’

ONCE again Jabalpur’s Lady Elgin Hospital has been adjudged overall best performer in State-level Labour Room Quality Improvement Initiative (LaQshya) certification. No Government hospital from Bhopal could meet set standards of LaQshya prorgamme. A State team headed by Health Commissioner Pallavi Jain Govil has suggested Lady Elgin Hospital of Jabalpur for full certification including Labour room, Operation Theater, Pharmacy, Blood bank and SNCU etc.

Apart from Jabalpur, 13 other districts including Khandwa, Satna, Shahdol, Badwani, Rajgarh, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Ujjain, Bhind, Shivpuri, Damoh, Sagar and Panna managed to bag State LaQshya certification.
State Nodal Officer of Quality Assurance, NRHM, Dr Pankaj Shukla, while speaking to ‘The Hitavada’ said that the State health team headed by Commissioner Pallavi Jain Govil inspected district hospitals of Madhya Pradesh.

After thorough inspection, the health team decided to give LaQshya certification to 14 district hospitals.
These 14 districts will later participate in National Quality Assurance Standard competition. He added that this year the Health Department paid special attention on cleanliness, biochemical waste, X-ray machine maintenance as per Atomic Energy Regulatory Board, equipment machine and patient satisfaction. He also said that they have given 2 months time to Bhopal district to meet NQUAS standards.
