Nawab Shafath Ali Khan, a sharp shooter from Hyderabad, whose son Asghar Ali Khan shot dead T1 tigress in Ralegaon tehsil, has threatened to sue Maneka Gandhi, Union Minister, for charging him as anti-social element with Maoist links.
Nawab Khan has been facing aspersions for his son shooting down the tigress from critics. Maneka Gandhi in her tweet said that Nawab was a criminal known for supplying weapons to anti-social elements.

Nawab on Monday told ‘The Hitavada’, he is neither a convict in any court case nor suffered sentence for any offence. In fact, there is not a single pending case or even FIR in any of the Indian courts, he said expressing surprise over the Union Cabinet level Minister making loose talks against him. He made it clear that he would not hesitate to go to court if such malicious, baseless and slanderous charges are hurled against him and his family. Nawab said that he was carrying out orders of Forest Department and his son was a member of the tracking team. He said Muqbir Shaikh, a Forester, who is specialist in firing dart from the tranquilising gun, had fired the dart at the tigress from 8 to 10 metres away but she suddenly charged at the team in an open Gypsy. Asghar Ali had shot her dead in self-defence, Nawab reiterated.

Nawab said that he would consult his lawyers on Tuesday to seek advice and then take a decision to file a defamation case in the court.
