AIIMS Bhopal celebrates ‘Deepotsav’

ALL India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) Bhopal celebrated Diwali, Deepotsav programme, in the premises of AIIMS medical College and Hospital on Tuesday.


On the auspicious occasion, Dr Sarman Singh, Director of AIIMS Bhopal appealed people to celebrate peaceful and Green Diwali. He said that after conducting a research, AIIMS Bhopal has confirmed that environment becomes more polluted after Diwali as people burst crackers on the day which releases harmful gases.
Also, there are several crackers those increase environmental temperature and noise pollution. This leaves very harmful impact over the society.


He added that glitter sticks releases very toxic gases that can cause heart attack and hinders respiratory system as well. Various children suffer asthma, expecting mother delivers at pre-mature stage, many people loose their eyes etc. He requested people to think about old people, expecting mothers and other vulnerable people and avoid anti-social activities. He requested people to administer oath of not bursting hazardous crackers and not letting others to burn them.


Later, Santosh Sohgoura, Deputy Director (Academics), Dr Manisha Shrivastava, Medical Superintendent, Professor Arneet Arora, Dean Academics and other staff members of AIIMS Bhopal enlightened lamps and nursing students made rangolis observing ‘Deepotsav’ ceremony.
