State successfully meets peak power demand on Dhanteras

STATE power sector successfully met peak demand in the State and set another record of maximum power supply. Power companies ensured 27 per cent excess electricity supply as compared to previous year during Dhanteras on November 5. Power companies met peak demand of 12,439 MW and supplied 26.31 crore units in the State.


According to the report of Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) the companies have supplied 26.31 crore units during peak demand during Dhanteras festival against supply of 20.77 crore units last year. Power companies met peak demand upto 12,439 MW on the day against previous year’s demand of 9,332 MW.


The State power sector has created another record of maximum supply with mutual coordination and dedicated working of officers and employees in Madhya Pradesh Power Management, Power Generating, Power Transmission and Poorva, Paschim and Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Companies. The power companies have already set the target to meet peak demand upto 13,000 MW during Rabi season. The demand was projected to be increased due to irrigation during peak working in agriculture sector. Highest electricity demand in the State was reported under Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company in Indore and Ujjain divisions upto 5,236 MW, while demand of 3,872 MW was reported in Bhopal and Gwalior under Madhya Pradesh Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company and demand of 3,331 MW was reported in Jabalpur, Sagar and Rewa divisions under Madhya Pradesh Poorva Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company Limited.
