‘Trade unions should join hands to fight for rights of members’

P G Meshram, Vice-President of PNB Employees Union, Nagpur Circle and General Council Member of All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) retired from the service. A grand function was organised to felicitated him. More than 300 staff members from 78 branches under Nagpur Circle, retired staff their family members attended the meeting. P G Meshram, Sunil Pathak, President, Ashok Vele, Chairman, Mahesh Barapatre, General Secretary and Sanjay Shende, Vice-President and Central Committee Member were seated on the dais.

All the speakers spoke about the contribution made by P G Meshram in the union activities in the last 30 years. Meshram worked in different positions in the union and was Treasurer for 18 years before being elevated to the post of Vice-President. He was also active member in Eastern Maharashtra Bank Employees Association and always participated in all the agitations.

Responding to the felicitation, Meshram said that he would continue to do the work of union. He said trade unions should join hands and fight for the rights of members as the banking industry was passing through bad phase. He thanked all the present and past union including N K Swami, R N Ramteke, Deosthale, Pramod Joshi and others fro their support and guidance which he received from time to time. His son Saket Meshram also expressed views. Ravi Sorakhe, Arvind Kurhadkar, Ramesh Bajirao, Chandrashekhar Walde, Atul Karambelkar, Prakash Agarwal, Avinash Atram, Vinit Shelke, Sunil Masram, Vandana Tirpude and Aniket Paunikar worked hard for the programme.
