Pick-up van crushes two school teachers to death in Saoner

TRAGEDY struck the families of two school teachers on Diwali festival after a rashly-driven Mahindra Bolero pick-up van crushed them to death and injured one of their common friends seriously in front of Janata Hall on Chhindwara Road in Saoner on Wednesday early morning.
The deceased, Nagorao Munderao Bansinghe (41) and Hemant Bhaurao Lade (52) were the residents of Lad Layout, Saoner. Injured Durgeshwar Govinda Chaudhary (48), a resident of Bhongale Layout, Saoner, is battling for his life at Mayo Hospital in Nagpur.

According to Nagpur (Rural) Police, Bansinghe and Lade were teachers at Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya, Sironji. Bansinghe, Lade and Chaudhary were on a morning walk on Chhindwara Road around 6 am. A speeding Mahindra Scorpio Pick-up van (MH-31/EN-0987) coming from behind mowed them down. Bansinghe and Lade were killed on the spot. Passers-by gathered at the spot and caught the van driver.

Chaudhary, who suffered serious injuries, was rushed to Saoner Rural Hospital. As Choudhary’s condition started deteriorating, he was shifted to Mayo Hospital, Nagpur. Saoner Police arrested van driver Dilip Parasram Waghade (55), a resident of Railway Station Ward No. 6, on charges under Sections 279, 337, 338, 304(A) of the IPC and 184 of Motor Vehicle Act.
