Various Diwali Pahaat musicals light up festive mood

The city woke-up to melodious strains of music that emanated from the many venues such as open spaces and halls, to welcome the festival of joy. Last two days witnessed several such top notch presentations. Amongst the popular programmes was Swarvedh Nagpur of Adv Bhanudas Kulkarni, that had organised a four-day event at the Scientific Society Hall. Each day was a musical journey of a kind, aptly named . The event started with ‘Utsah Yatra’, in which senior Citizens rendered 21 songs. Next day experienced ‘Swar Yatra’, in which swaras that touch the chord, were highlighted through songs by various leading city based artists. On November 8, it was ‘Taal Yatra’ that highlighted the percussion part that made songs immortal. Here again 21 songs were rendered with aplomb.
On November 9 it will be ‘Anand Yatra’, comprising songs that takes a look towards the positive side of life and always brings happiness and joy to the listener.

People thronged the Scientific Society Hall, Laxmi Nagar at 5 am to grab vantage seats. The programmes, conceptualised by Adv Bhanudas Kulkarni, witnessed huge crowd that occupied the gangway, passages and parts of the stage, listening to the over two hour programme and enjoying every moment.

Musicians, who enthralled on all days comprised Adv Bhanudas Kulkarni and Sachin Bakshi on Tabla, Mahendra Dhole and Parimal Joshi on keyboard, Arvind Upadhaye on flute, Narendra Kadve on Harmonium, Gaurav Tanksale on Guitar, Pankaj Yadav on Dholak, Subhash Wankhede on Octopad and Vikram Joshi on Minor. Lively anchoring was
done by Renuka Deshkar and Mukund Deshpande.

Artists who rendered songs on November 6,7 and 8 were Prakash Khot, Arun Nalage, Nilima Mohite, Sudhir Meshram, Tribhuvan Meshram, Vaishali Pavnaskar, Dr Mohan Subhedar, Krushna Kapoor, Dr Sheela Kulkarni, Dr Mohan Shanware, Amar Kulkarni, Rasika Bavdekar,Shruti Jain, Avantika Padhye, Rupali Bakshi, Manisha Andulkar, Parvati Nair, Niranjan Bobde, Gopal Iyer.

In another programme held at Hanuman Nagar Open Garden on November 7, Shruti Pandavkar, Parvati Nair, Niranjan Bobde, Naman Gharpure, Mangesh, rendered songs.

Ijaz Khan, anchor and mimic, entertained the gathering . Diwali Pahaat was also organised at the Koradi Thermal Power Station Housing Colony Koradi on November 8. Singers Sarang Joshi, Sonali Dixit and Monika Deshmukh rendered hit songs in marathi. Musicians who provided accompaniment were Shyam Oza, Raja Rathod, Prashant Nagmote, Raja Thakur, Dr Manoj Salpekar did a fine job in anchoring the event. Retired and serving officers of KTPS, employees, representatives of organisation were prominantly present on the occasion.
