DICCI, BPCL hold workshop on petrol pump dealer’s selection method

The Vidarbha Chapter of Dalit India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) along with petroleum distribution company Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) recently organised a workshop on ‘Petrol Pump Dealer Selection Method’ at BANAE Hall. Nischal Shelke, President of DICCI West India; Gopal Wasnik, President of DICCI Vidarbha Region; Sameer Dange, Teritory Manager of BPCL; Nilesh Lele, Territory Co-ordinator; Rupraj Gauri, Vice-President of DICCI Vidarbha Region; Pradeep Meshram, Vertical Head DICCI; and Vinni Meshram, Ladies Wing President of DICCI; were present on the dais.


On the occasion, Sameer Dange briefed the gathering about on-line application procedures and documents required for petrol pumps. “Total 22.5 per cent of the total petrol pumps are reserved for SC/ST persons and in Vidarbha there 267 pumps reserved for the categories. Those having space in the prescribed areas of distribution will be given priority. Howver those who do not have space may also apply by taking space on lease,” Dange said.


Nischal Shelke said, “There is a great opportunity for SC/ST entrepreneurs to enter into a new area of business. Our entrepreneurs having resources must avail the golden opportunity.” Shelke appealed to the youths to think seriously of the new business. Gopal Wasnik, added, “Due to lack of proper knowledge, SC/ST youth were lagging behind in entering into the petroleum dealership segment. There is a big opportunity as up to 22.5 per cent of the out lets will be owned by SC/ST entrepreneurs.” He also appreciated the efforts of BPCL company for explaining the process in details. Wasnik also briefed about DICCI activities for the uplift of SC/ST entrepreneurs. Pradeep Meshram conducted the proceedings while Rupraj Gouri proposed the vote of thanks.
