Business Bureau,

The Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC) on Monday accused the Nagpur Metro Region Development Authority (NMRDA) of behaving in an irresponsible manner while dealing with the industrialists and traders.  The oldest traders’ body in the region said that the NMRDA was asking for huge money from the industrialists and traders who fall under the newly formed Nagpur Metro Region.

In a special meeting held in the office of the NVCC at Civil Lines, the traders’ body unanimously decided to oppose the move and also gearing up to fight a legal battle. “The NMRDA has recently served notices to all the commercial establishments within the radius of 25 km but outside the municipal limits asking them to pay Rs 56 per square feet under the head of development charges. This has put huge financial burden on the industrialists and traders,” Hemant Gandhi, President of NVCC, said.

On the occasion, Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce set up an action committee which will take up the matter on various platforms. The committee will soon meet Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and make him aware of the concerns of traders and industrialists.
Radheshyam Sarda, Arjundas Ahuja, Faruque Akbani, all past presidents, Sanjay Agrawal - Secretary; Treasurer - Sachin Punyani, Ranavtar Totla and Swapnil Ahirkar, both
joint secretaries; and others attended the meet.
