MICON conducts HR competition

A COMPETITION for industry on ‘Best HRM Practices in Human Resource Management’ was organised at Management International Conference (MICON) 2018 on Tuesday.  In the preliminary round the teams from corporate presented their organisation’s ‘Best HRM Practices in Human Resource Management’. Around 10 teams participated from industry.


Teams from Persistent Systems Limited, InfoCepts, Spacewood, Torana Inc, Vidarbha Industries Power Limited, JSW Steel Coated Products Ltd, Imerys India, Calderys India Refractories Ltd, GMR Energy and Raymond Limited participated in this competition.  Energising presentations threw light on highly effective HR practices in organisations. Staging of best human resource practices gave impetus to build a high impact organisation to the audience.


Judges for the competition were Cdr Sunil Moharil, DGM-HR, SMS Limited and Dr Neerpal Rathi, Assistant Professor, IIM Nagpur. The judges evaluated the presentation on the parameters like business impact, creativity, quality of conceptual framework, rigor of implementation and quality of applications of the best HRM practices. The final round will be held on December 15, at Hotel Tuli Imperial during two day conference. With the advent of HR as business partners constant innovations are required where such competitions provides opportunity to showcase and adapt region’s most appreciated practices.


Experience is one of the best ways to learn the inside out of any specific area, but attending this event was an excellent starting point for the both the academicians and students to understand the current trends in Human Resources Management (HRM).


MICON 2018 is being jointly organised by Department of Management Technology (DMT), Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management (RCOEM), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and University of District of Columbia (UDC), USA on December 14 and 15 at Hotel Tuli Imperial.
