Collector Bhardwaj issues prohibitory orders u/s 144(1)

District Magistrate and Collector, Chhavi Bhardwaj has issued prohibitory orders under Section 144 (1) of the IPC in the city on Thursday. The Collector has issued order to protect the fundamental rights of the citizens, maintain law and order, protect the public properties and maintain peace and harmony.


Following prohibitory orders, there will be strict prohibition on use of weapons and its demonstration, carrying of weapons from one place to another. In the order, it is mentioned that, no one would be allowed to exhibit and use explosive material, burst crackers at public places or road. Person has to take prior permission from the Sub Division Magistrate, before organising a public meeting or gathering, where more than 50 persons are likely to assemble. While, no such permission is required for organising any religious programme.


Vehicle rally along with use of DJ is permanently prohibited. Use of loudspeaker is completely prohibited from 10 pm to 6 am and loudspeaker can be used from 6 am to 10 pm with only prior permission of competent authority, 50 decibel sound should be maintained, only two sound box would be allowed.


No slogans or banners and posters would be allowed in the programme hurting sentiments of any caste, creed or religion. Action would be taken against the person or organiser found guilty of violating the rules under the prohibitory law.
Organisers would have to take permission of house owner before mounting banner, poster and flags on his/her house.
Sending or forwarding of objectionable material like on Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter has been completely prohibited.
In the order, it is clearly mentioned that, action would be taken against the person or group, involved in violation of Section 144.
