Northerly winds bring more chill

With wind direction turning northerly once again, temperatures have taken a nose dive in Madhya Pradesh. Bhopal maximum temperature declined to 22.3 degrees Celsius, 3 degrees below normal level. In comparison to Wednesday’s maximum temperature, it is five degrees less. Minimum temperature of Bhopal settled down at 8.4 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal level. As mercury level has gone down significantly during day time, people in Bhopal have a tough time in dealing with increased cold conditions. To protect themselves from cold, they were seen moving around by donning warm clothes. The sudden plunge in mercury level has taken people by surprise. Weather Department forecast that mercury level is expected to go down further in State. This means that more chilly weather is in offing for people.

Jabalpur shivered at minimum temperature of 8.1 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees below normal. Its maximum temperature was recorded at 22.7 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees below normal. People in Indore felt intense cold during day time as maximum temperature dipped to 21.4 degrees Celsius, 5 degrees below normal.

Its minimum temperature was registered at 9.4 degrees Celsius, 1 degree below normal. Weather Department added that northerly winds are blowing in state and this is the reason that cold has increased in state. In last twenty four hours, weather remained dry in most parts of State. Khajuraho continue to reel under cold wave. Its minimum temperature was recorded at 3 degrees Celsius. Weather Department added that in last twenty four hours, minimum temperature decreased substantially in Indore and Bhopal division. As cold has tightened its grip, normal life has been affected badly in affected parts of State. People are facing tough time in doing works of regular life. During early morning hours, many parts are also seen in grip of light to moderate fog.
