Cong laid foundation of unity in diversity: CM

Chief Minister Kamal Nath unfurled party’s flag during celebration of 134th Foundation Day of the party and 96th Foundation Day of Seva Dal at the premises of Congress in State capital on Friday. On the occasion, senior Congress leaders were present.

Addressing the Congress workers, Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that people have faith on Congress. He said that India is a land of diversity and different religions. India stands united under one flag.

“It was Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who laid the foundation of unity in diversity,” he added. He added that entire world is looking towards India and trying to know that how entire country is united despite so much diversity. “This is the gift of Congress,” he asserted.

Remembering great leaders who took part in the freedom struggle, he asked Congressmen to take pledge to expose communal forces. He said that now every citizen is fighting against divisive forces and in this situation the country needs Congress. Congress is a party which respects every religion.

On the occasion, Cabinet Minister P C Sharma, former Union Minister Suresh Pachouri, former Mayor Sunil Sood, Congress Media Cell Incharge Shobha Ojha, former Mayor Sunil Sood, Congress Media Coordinator Narendra Saluja, Bhupendra Gupta, Abhay Dubey, ex Mayor Vibha Patel, former Mayor Deepchand Yadav and others were present.
