DGP dissolves CBs, SICs across State

The Hitavada State Bureau,

RAIPUR/BILASPUR/SURGUJA,

Director General of Police (DGP) D M Awasthi dissolved Crime Branches (CBs) and Special Investigation Cells (SIC) of all districts related to economic offences with immediate effect.

In this regard, the DGP on Friday issued an order, stating that all the crime branch teams or special investigation teams related to the economic offences, set up in all the districts, be closed with immediate effect. It was learnt that the image of the crime branch was not clean and various complaints were being received against the officers and the police personnel employed at the crime branches or special investigation teams. In the order, it was clarified that the crime branches or SICs were dissolved to restore the trust over police and to re-establish true nature of investigation at the police station levels.

In this regard, the DGP issued the order to all Superintendents of Police (SPs). In the order, the police officers and police personnel have been directed to report to the concerned police stations or the reserved battalions.
In compliance to the DGP’s order, Superintendent of Police Neethu Kamal terminated the posting of Sub-Inspectors (SI), Head Constables and Constables with Crime Branch or SIC and sent them to their parent units.

The order reads that SI Bhupal Bhoi, SI Kelashnath Shandil and SI Genduram Navrang have been returned to Balodabazaar whereas SI Hemkumar Thakur, HC Shekhar Chandrakar, HC Ramadhar Verma, constables as Devendra Kumar Nishad, Abhimanyu Tandi, Vinod Kumar Kurre, Dinesh Kosle, Sushil Pathak, Vivek Kumar Yadav and Prafull Nirmalkar have been sent back to District Gariyaband.

In the same way, Superintendent of Police, Bilspur through an order, has reverted back SI UN Shant Kumar Sahu, HC as Ashok Chaurasiya, Dhanesh Sahu, Anil Sahu, and Kamal Sahu and constables as Bodhu Ram, Manoj Baghel, Avinash Pandey, Rahul Jagat, Dhirendra Sahu, Santosh Yadav, Vikas Yadav and Dharmendra Sahu to Reserve Police, Bilaspur.

Surguja SP Sadanand Kumar also issued an order, directing all the officials/employees to report back at their original units. SICs shall be submitting back the case diaries to the concerned Police Stations and Police Posts.

Dhamtari SP Rajnesh Singh, through an order dated August 9, 2017, was the first to dissolve Crime Branch and SICs units. Complying with the DGP’s order, Durg SP Prakhar Pandey also ordered to dissolve the SICs and Crime Branch in his district.
