Govt has no plan to ban film ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’: Cong

A film based on the political life of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ is making headlines much before its release. The political corridors of Madhya Pradesh are abuzz about the content of the movie.
Social media was abuzz with the news that the film may be banned but Congress categorically said that the government has no such plans.

The film will be released just before Lok Sabha elections. Moreover, Congress has just formed Government in Madhya Pradesh after a long hiatus of 15 years. Trailer of film in which former PM Manmohan Singh is shown as inside politics of Congress has created enough heat and controversy.

Congress Media Department Incharge Shobha Ojha, when contacted, said that the film is yet to release and the Congress Government has not banned the film hitherto.

“Let people see and decide themselves. Everyone knows the tenure and clean image of former PM Manmohan Singh. During his tenure, people got various kinds of rights including RTI, Right to Food, MNREGA,” she said.

Taking on BJP, she asserted that the film has been made to divert public attention from PM’s jumala of giving Rs 15 lakh to each person and so on and BJP stands exposed.

Meantime, Congress Media Coordinator Narendra Saluja told that CM has made it clear that he has no intention to ban the film.
