Jaundice outbreak: Medical camp held at Sahupara

Alarmed by a dozen cases of jaundice, Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) setup a medical camp and collected blood samples at the Sahupara area of Fafadih on Saturday.
As many as 12 positive cases of Jaundice were discovered at Sahupara just a day ago after the complaints regarding contaminated water supply reported from the locality.
RMC Zone-2 Health Department was put on high alert as the Water Department officials searched and repaired the leakages found in the water supply line on the same day. RMC Commissioner Rajat Bansal also took stock of the situation in the night.


On Saturday, Medical Camp examined 85 people for the jaundice. Blood samples of the 17 patients were collected for pathological tests.  A team of Epidemic Cell Director Dr R R Sahani, Deputy Director Pambhoi, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Shandilya along with RMC Health Officer Dr B K Mishra also scoped out the area.


The medical team reached out to every home and distributed chlorine tablets. These medical experts also suggested people the precautionary measures to prevent the disease. This team was comprised of City Programme Manager Swatantra Rahangdale, Epidemiologist Virendra Ganjir, and RMC Health Officer Dr B K Mishra. The team also collected water samples from the taps at homes. Many Aanganbadi workers, Mitanins and ANM workers are also giving service at the area.
