2 of 3 accused held for youth’s murder

GORAKHPUR police succeeded in apprehending two of the three accused of killing a man within few hours of the incident and seized a knife from them. The arrested accused have been identified as Bhura alias Islam Khan (22), son of Nasir Khan, a resident of Shivaji Nagar, Mandwa Basti and Raja Tiwari (19), son of Jagdish Prasad Tiwari, a resident of Mandwa Basti, while another accused named Jittu alias Shera Khan (31), a resident of Mandwa Basti, is still at large after the incident. Additional Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Shukla (IPS) disclosed this while addressing a press conference on Sunday.


ASP Shukla informed that a youth named Satyam Sen (25), a resident of Shivaji Nagar, Mandwa Basti in Gorakhpur, was killed after being stabbed with sharp-edged weapons for objecting miscreants for consuming liquor near a temple in Mandwa Basti on December 29 evening.
Investigating the case, a boy named Rohit Sen (18), resident of Shivaji Nagar Mandwa Basti, informed that Satyam Sen was his elder brother who worked as a labourer. Satyam was walking towards home when he witnessed Bhura alias Ismile and Raja Tiwari who were consuming liquor in front of Sharda Mandir.


Satyam objected them for consuming liquor in front of the temple when they started abusing him. Before he could learn their intentions, the miscreants took out knives and wounded his abdomen, chest and thigh and he died on the spot. Gorakhpur police registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC and started search for the accused. Continuing a rigorous search, police team succeeded in apprehending two of the three accused and a search is underway to nab the third accused.


In further investigation, police learnt that the arrested Islam Khan and absconding Sher Khan are habitual criminals and around 9 and 10 cases against them are still under consideration in the court. The accused were apprehended with active efforts of police team led by SHO, Gorakhpur, Umesh Tiwari comprising Rampur sub police station, in-charge, SI, Hemant Yadav, ASI, Rajesh Ahirwar, Head Constable, Indrajeet Tiwari and constable, Kanchedi Patel.
