Heavy police bandobast for peaceful New Year revelry

JABALPUR police have made broad arrangements to maintain law and order during New Year eve celebrations. Additional security arrangements will be made to check anti-social activities and drunken driving in the city during New Year celebrations. For this separate police teams have been constituted under the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police, Deepak Kumar Shukla (IPS) under supervision of Additional SP (City), Rajesh Tripathi, Additional SP (South), Dr Sanjeev Uike, Additional SP (Crime), Shivesh Singh Baghel and Additional SP (Rural), Raisingh Narvaria.

ASP Deepak Kumar Shukla informed that additional police deployment will be done at main squares and streets in the city. Police will conduct vehicles checking at different check points with breath analysers. In case if drunken driving is found then driving license of violator will be cancelled. For this, additional police personnel along with mobile vehicles and patrolling teams will keep a vigilant eye across the city. Fixed pickets will be installed at main squares while patrolling teams will conduct rigorous patrolling in the city. Police personnel will be deployed in civil dress to check anti-social activities in the city. Owners of hotels and clubs have been directed already to following necessary norms and end New Year parties till stipulated time.

Organisers have been asked to avoid use of DJ and take permission for use of maximum two sound boxes and deploying their volunteers for parking arrangements and security measures. Organisers should ensure entry of only known persons at programme venues to avoid presence of anti-social elements. Under the direction of Supreme Court of India, fireworks will be allowed from 11:55 pm to 12:30 am. ASP Deepak Kumar Shukla made an appeal to the residents to follow directions of police and administration to avoid any kind of inconvenience during New Year celebrations and check any untoward incident in the city.
