Crime Branch arrests two; recovers stolen motorbike

CRIME BRANCH sleuths nabbed two and recovered a stolen motorbike from their possession in Sector-2, Bhilai. The police cell handed over the case to the police station concerned for further legal action in the matter.

Police sources informed that the accused were identified as Vishal Singh, a resident of Sector-6, Bhilai and Noman Saberi, a resident of Sector-2, Bhilai. The police said that on being tipped of the police cell team swung into action and apprehended the accused who during interrogation confessed their involvement in the vehicle theft that occurred near a mall in Civic Center, Bhilai on November 14. The police recovered the stolen two-wheeler (CG07/LY/5134) on instances of the accused.

The police also said that the police cell team could trap the accused after erecting barriers while they were looking for customers for disposal of ill gotten vehicle to procure money.
The police cell teams are undertaking the special driver to curb the reports on rise of stealing of two-wheelers in the twin-city and the cache was the outcome of it. The drive would be continued in days to come.

The police have registered the offence against the accused under section 379 of Indian Penal Code for indulging in the criminal act of stealing from an open place.
