Paddy centres’ managers asked to lift procured stock in time

Raipur Division Commissioner directed officials for timely lifting of the procured paddy to avoid overstocking and consequential hindrance in procurement process.
In a surprise inspection on Thursday, Divisional Commissioner G R Churendra scrutinised the paddy procurement centres of Riwa, Bhansoj and Gullu. He instructed the centres’ managers and departmental officials for making sure timely lifting of the procured stock to avoid any overstocking. Divisional Commissioner also held discussion over procurement arrangements with the farmers.
He asked department officials to make sure paddy goes straightway to rice mills from the procurement centres and accumulation there should be made according to available space. Thereafter, the rice gathered from custom milling shall also be
lifted regularly.
There should be special vigil to stop the paddy from outside the state and strict actions should be taken in such cases.
If needed, assign additional officials/employees with the task. Make sure no one sells the paddy on someone else’s credit book and conduct investigation, make verification on finding any such complaints. Suspend the payment of procurement till the investigation is completed. Strict actions shall be made on middlemen and swindlers.
Make entry of stock in B-1 register after monthly inspection of the stocks of the Businessmen who purchase paddy on the basis of Mandi license and make arrangements that the businessmen sel the stock directly to rice miller or within the Mandi. Commissioner also asked legal actions on businessmen and middlemen purchasing the paddy without valid license.
