RAIPUR,

Ten students of Krishna Public School (KPS), Raipur once again touched the acme of success with their outstanding results in Regional Mathematical Olympiad (2018).
Mihir Bani (Std 12th), Ritwik Devdutta Das (Std 12th), Gajanan Sunil Gitte (Std 12th), Prahlad Singhal (Std 12th), Anjali Agrawal(Std-11th) Abhijeet Tiwari(Std-11th), Anshul Verma (Std.10th), Mansha Kochar (Std-10th), M Suhail Memon Loya (Std-10th), Samriddhi Nahta (Std-10th) substantiated their academic sagacity and prolificacy in the aforementioned exam.

Out of 40 selected students from Chhattisgarh Region, 10 students of KPS, Raipur have been qualified for Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) scheduled in January 2019. The candidates of RMO appeared in a three-hour written test with six problems. The syllabus for Mathematical Olympiad is based on pre-degree college mathematics. In a sense the syllabus is spread over classes X-XII levels, but the problems under each topic need acute intellectual prowess. The achievers of KPS, Raipur succeeded to qualify for RMO barring the challenges of Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad (PRMO-Stage-1) – a three hour examination with thirty Questions.

More than 3,000 students appeared from Chhattisgarh and only 385 students were screened for RMO in Chhattisgarh. Out of 385 students, 35 students of KPS Raipur sealed their spot in RMO (Stage-2). In Regional Mathematical Olympiad, Out of 40 students from Chhattisgarh, 10 students are from KPS Raipur. The achievers of successive stages will get the opportunity to compete at International Mathematical Olympiad which is going to be held in University of Bath, (United Kingdom)-July 2019.

The Mathematical Olympiad Programme in India is organised by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) on behalf of the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.

The chief objective of such competition is to promote the most gifted secondary and higher secondary-level talented students and to enhance their skill in the concerned subject. A major National Olympiad programme in basic sciences and mathematics has been connected to the International Olympiads to manifest the budding talents of our country.

The achievers of RMO will compete at Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) at thirty centres across India.  Successively the achievers of INMO (Stage-3) will get the opportunity to attend the lecture and problem solving session at Indian National Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC-Stage-4) and Pre-Departure Camp (Stage-5) organised by HBCSE.

On the basis of a number of selection tests during the camp, a team of best six students will be selected from the combined pool of junior and senior batch participants as the
International Mathematical Olympiad 2019 team from India. KPS Raipur ensures special training for all the candidates by the extremely resourceful faculties throughout the year.

All the administrative dignitaries of KPS, Raipur hailed the students’ outstanding achievements and wished them a successful run for the consecutive stages of IMO.
