‘Health services being enhanced at fast pace in AIIMS’

All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS), Bhopal which is one of the six new units among AIIMS institutes established under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana(PMSSY) in the year 2012, is now going to establish itself as brand for excellent achievements and due to special activities in health services.
AIIMS Director Dr Nitin M Nagarkar addressing a press conference at AIIMS, Bhopal said that all efforts are being made to provide better services to the patients, facility management with positive thinking so that people in central India could get all health facilities here.

Public Relation Officer Santosh Sohgaura informed that first session of MBBS was started with 49 students in the year 2012, which increased up to 100 seats till the year-2017 and admission for 33 students for PG (MD/MS) courses has been started from January 2018. Similarly, 60 students were given admission in nursing college in the year 2017 and all the nursing graduates of first batch got employment.
Hostel and mess facilities are available for all students in AIIMS. For the officials and employees, there are 170 houses of different level as well as a guest house has also been constructed.

Major achievements at AIIMS, Bhopal since January 2016 included inauguration of Trauma OT Complex(4 Nos), inauguration of central library, inauguration of SMTU, making HVAC functional for medical college and hospital building, functioning of 2X300 KVA UPS system, inauguration of Jan Aushadhi, marking International Yoga Day, opening of private wards(16 nos), inauguration of health kiosk, 37 faculty members promoted through APS scheme, 116 faculty members selected through direct recruitment, commencement of mortuary(autopsy) services, implementation of Swachhata action plan and implementation of Kayakalp Action Plan. Facilities including ultrasound, X-Ray, MRI, CT Scan are also available and mammography and DSA facility will be commissioned in March, 2018.

Laboratory services, including microbiology, biochemistry, pathology, radio imaging, point of care services: NCV, EMG, Echocardiography and EEG, sleep lab, bronchoscopy and
pulmonary function tests, various investigations have been done from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017.
