In what could be dubbed as a major jolt to Congress in the run up to the Mungawali Assembly by-poll in Ashok Nagar district, a senior Congress leader from Ashok Nagar and representative of MP Jyotiraditya Scindia, Dr Krishnapal Yadav and his wife Anuradha Yadav joined BJP on Wednesday.
Both of them reached BJP headquarters in State capital andexuded their faith in BJP and its ideology. They claimed that they are joining BJP as they are hugely impressed by the working style of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Both of them joined BJP in presence of minister Rampal Singh. Formally, they will take BJP membership in presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Dr Krishnapal Yadav informed mediapersons that he will take BJP’s membership in presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Mungawali on Thursday. Dr Krishnapal minced no words in taking a shot at Congress party and said he had been victim of cheating in Congress and this is the major reason that he decided to hold the hand of ruling party BJP.

It is reportedly learnt that Dr Krishnapal Yadav was aspirant contender for Mungawali Assembly by-election ticket, but Congress decided to give ticket to someone else. When contacted, Chief Spokesman of Congress K K Mishra claimed that Dr Krishnapal Yadav was not a big leader of Ashok Nagar and Congress is not at all affected by the departure of Dr Krishnapal Yadav. He rather stated that Congress is a big party and its base is regularly expanding. He claimed that Congress will win the Ashok Nagar Assembly by-election. Notably, by-election for Mungawali Assembly seat was necessitated following the death of sitting Congress MLA Mahendra Singh Kalukheda.
