Procession marks Sant Ravidas Jayanti

To mark the occasion of Sant Ravidas Jayanti a grand procession was taken out from Ambedkar Chowk to Gwarighat, on Wednesday. A large number of social organisations participated in the procession.
Tableaux and replicas by different social organisations assembled at Ambedkar Chowk and in form of procession. The rally passing through Christ Church School, Katanga, Rampur, Bandaria Tiraha and at Badsahah Halwai Mandir to Gwarighat. In the joint procession the tableaux, statues of Saint Ravidas was taken out.

The procession led by eminent members of different social organisations and eminent residents of the city followed by decorated camels, team of youths carrying yellow flags, placards having picture of Saint Ravidas and his message on social equality and harmony.
The procession was flagged off by Advocate NC Qurel. The procession passing through main centers of the city reached Gwarighat. On the route of procession at different points the procession accorded with rousing welcome by various social, cultural, political and business organisations.
On this occasion another major programme was orgnaised by Dalit Sena Kalyan Sangh organised a grand program at Badshah Halwai Mandir where senior members of the Community were welcomed.

In Cantoment area in presence of MLA, Ashok Rohani and Cantt. Vice President Abishek Chouksey a grand procession was taken out and cultural programs were organised in evening in Sadar. The BJP Deendayal Mandal organised a program of fruit distribution at Rajkumari Bai Bal Niketan. Similarly in different centers of the city programs were organised.

Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (Schedule Caste Department) State Coordinator, Anil Guheria informed that to mark Shri Saint Ravidas Jayanti the worship of Sant was performed by installing statue at Damohnaka and religious offerings were made.
Chief guest was Congress leader, Sachin Yadav, Pt Kallu Tiwari and Anil Guheria. The programme was attended by Kallu Panda, Ajju Choudhary, Jugnu Satnami, Bheem Choudhary, Govardhan Choudhary, Vikas Jatav, Mohan Pachori, Rewa Choudhary, Munna Thakur and others.
