Blind murder mystery solved, accused held

GOHALPUR police have solved a blind murder mystery of a man and succeeded in apprehending the accused. The deceased was a thief and was killed with a sharp-edged weapon by his accomplice over a dispute over distribution of stolen money. The accused has been identified as Saleem alias Khari Bhuji, a resident of Mohariya in Gohalpur. CSP, Adhartal, Sitaram Yadav disclosed this while addressing a press conference on Sunday.

Body of an unidentified boy was found under mysterious circumstances near Haji Market in Raddi Chowki under jurisdiction of Gohalpur police station on February 6. The deceased was later identified as Imran Khan (30), son of Raheem Khan, a resident of near Amkhera Pond.

Gohalpur police had registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC. Taking a serious note into the case, Superintendent of Police Shashikant Shukla constituted a team under supervision of Additional SP (City), Guru Prasad Parashar and CSP, Kotwali, Sitaram Yadav. Investigating the case, police team led by SHO of Gohalpur police station K P Yadav learnt that the deceased was last seen with a man named Saleem alias Khari Bhuji, a resident of Mohariya.

Acting promptly on the information, police started a search and detained the suspected man for further investigation into the case. During rigorous interrogation, the accused broke out and confessed to the crime. The accused revealed that he along with Imran Khan were involved in pick-pocketing and theft incidents.

Late in the night on February 6, Imran Khan was lying near Haji Market near Raddi Chowki Square when they had an argument over distribution of stolen money. In the intervening night, Saleem killed Imran Khan with a sharp-edged weapon. On his identification, police recovered the weapon used in the incident.

he case was solved with active working of police team comprising SHO Gohalpur, KPS Yadav, SI, S N Kushwaha, ASI, Sabhajit Singh, Head Constables, Kailesh Mishra, Vinod Surkel, Constables, Manoj Pandey, Abhayt Singh and Crime Branch’s Head Constable, Vijay Shukla, constables Rajesh Kewat, Nitin Mishra, Ajit Patel and Anil.
On the achievement, SP Shashikant Shukla has declared reward for members of police team.
