MPWs continue hunger strike on 7th day

With the demand of solution of discrepancy of salary the multi-purpose health workers under the banner of ‘New Bahuudeshiya Swasthya Karamchari Sangh MP’ sat on successive hunger strike at Neelam Park on February 5, 2018. New Bahu Uddeshiya Swasthya Karmchari Sangh, Madhya Pradesh State President Ramkishore Singh Bhadoriya said that because the Government-administration did not allow to protest at public place the successive hunger strike continued for seventh day at private building, Maharishi Gautam Bhavan in Tulsi Nagar.

State convener of the Sangh RPS Rajput informed that salary discrepancy Committee (Vetan Visangati Samiti) was formed on March 16, 2016 for submitting report within three months. Even after 18 months when the committee did not submitted its report to the administration then again another secretary-level committee was formed on September 26, 2017. It had been almost 120 days of forming of committee and yet it hadn’t reached a decisive position. In Health department the qualifications required for recruitment for post of Radiographer, lab technician and multi-purpose health workers have similar rules, eligibility is the same and training period of women multi-purpose health workers is more than that of men workers. The pay scale of the multipurpose-workers is low. All the documents related to recruitment rules and other important documents asked by the department from the multi-purpose workers have been produced by to the Sangh to the department. Now the delegation wants that the problem of the salary discrepancy must be solved immediately.

Secretary Shivkumar Lahariya informed that toady is the seventh successive day of the hunger Strike and no one from the administration has come to ask the well-being of the representatives observing hunger strike. Workers and the officials of the Sangh from Rewa, Sagar, and Jabalpur districts were present and expressed their resentment towards the administration and to increase the enthusiasm of the Sang representatives sitting on hunger strike.On February 11, 2018 the workers by begging at New Market demonstrated against the administration. If their demands are not met then as next-strategy they helplessly will Gherao the Vidhan Sabha, Vallabh Bhawan, and the Bungalow of the Health Minister.
