Mercury dips with sudden change in weather

Due to western disturbance and low pressure developed over the State, especially over eastern Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, climatic condition of the city and adjoining areas remained badly affected on Sunday. Mild showers following by high velocity winds hit the city on Sunday evening. People could witness sudden drop in temperature due to change in weather conditions. In last few days, with rise in mercury people were gearing up to welcome summer and kept their woolen stock aside. But with sudden change in weather people had to take out their woollens to stay warm and safe.
People of poor sections like rickshaw-pullers, labourers faced a tough time in shielding themselves from cold winds. They managed to stay warm by self-arranged bonfires.

Since last several days, maximum as well as minimum temperature in the city was above average. On Sunday, weather conditions changed suddenly with hovering of thick black clouds. Dust storm also hit the city. Thereafter, light drizzle occurred resulting into sudden drop in temperature. Minimum temperature on Sunday was registered at 11.6 degree Celsius, while maximum was recorded at 24.6 degree Celsius.

Humidity in the morning was 62 per cent, while it remained constant till late night. The city also received rainfall of 1.4 mm. Weatherman informed that low pressure will continue to develop over the State for two more days and the city is likely to receive more rains. Likewise, chilly winds would also continue to sweep the city and mercury will dip further when skies get clear after departing of clouds. Looking into sudden change in weather conditions, people have demanded Jabalpur Municipal Corporation to arrange bonfire for poor.
Though changed climatic conditions are becoming troublesome, despite people have been enjoying the same.
Youth boy and girls were seen in large number at ice cream parlors and tea stalls chilling and enjoying.
