Staff Reporter,

Nagpur Police, Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation Limited, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) should provide a clear way for the students appearing for Class X and XII th examinations slated from later part of this month. This appeal has been made by thousands of students and their parents who are appearing for the crucial examinations. Presently, all these agencies have undertaken developmental work on the roads. These agencies have placed the barricades on these roads creating a big problem for the smooth flow of traffic during morning hours.

The State Board has already made it clear that students must reach centre within time else they would not be allowed inside the centre. Morning hour being rush hour, often there are heavy traffic jams due to ongoing construction work of cement road, metro rail and also laying of cables. This has already created anxiety among parents who are moving authorities to take this issue on war footing.

Several students have centre at Shivaji Science College, Dhanwatey National College, New English High School near Ajni Railway Station in Congress Nagar. The NMRCL has placed barricades over there to stop movement of four wheelers but it has given a small space for two wheelers. If the barricade are temporarily removed from there during examination period then this will help more two wheelers to pass through it. On several occasions, heavy vehicles also jam the road creating problems for the citizens. Similar situation arises every where and mostly near examination centers. The concerning agencies should remove all the hurdles coming in the way to reach examination centre.

Meanwhile, a delegation of CRYSTAL Foundation met DCP (Traffic) S. Chaitanya recently urging him to deploy more police force to clear the traffic during examination timings (from 9 am to 11 am) so that students can reach their centres before time. The Police should ensure that the parents and students should not face problem while reaching the centre in time. The foundation has also urged the citizens to give lift to the students on their vehicles to help them to reach centre on time. Founder President Amit Jachak, Secretary Mukund Ghulghule, Mandar Chitale, Prasanna Atlakar, Bhavesh Topper, Sapan Nehrotra, Atul Ghulghule, Amkit Chinchmalatpure, Vaidehi Deshpande, Puja Singh had submitted the memorandum to him.
