Collector pays surprise visit to villages in Keolari block

In an unusual move, District Collector Gopal Chandra Dand paid surprise visit at Keolari development block and carried out inspection of government schools and Anganwadi center. The objective behind the Collector’s visit was to take stock of the situation.
According to information, Collector Dand carried out surprise inspection at Government Middle School at Jhagra and Lopa and interacted with students. He sought information from students on level pf preparation of their forthcoming annual examination. While interacting with students, he sought answer on questions from Mathematics, Science and other subjects taught in the school. He urged students to appear for their final examination without any fear and must take up examination with ease. During his talks with students, he gauged the mental ability of students and instructed the teaching staff to take more efforts with students.
He called a meeting of staffers and instructed them to ensure adequate classroom teaching as any negligence in teaching would not be tolerated. Earlier he encouraged students and extended goods wishes to pass their examination with flying colours.
Later the District Collector inspected Anganwadi centers in the village and took keen interest in the food supplements being given to children. He took serious note of less number of children enrolled at the Anganwadi centre and instructed the District Programme Officer to maintain continuous vigilance on the Anganwadi centres in the region.
Collector Seoni also inspected fair price shop at village Palari. The District Collector inspected the stock register of the shop and carried out physical verification of foodgrains and other goods in the shop.
He expressed annoyance on lees supply of foodgrains being given TO beneficiaries. It was observed during the inspection that on average the goods weighed in the weighing machine was less by by 100 to 200 grams. The shop manager was issued a word of caution by the Collector who said that under no circumstances beneficiary be given less foodgrains.
He also inspected the modern village panchayat recently dedicated to public by the Chief Minister. He appreciated the development projects being carried out by the village panchayat and working of the panchayat administration.
