Encroachments hindering development works razed

Anti-encroachment department of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) on Monday conducted drive in many areas of the city and removed a number of permanent as well as temporary structures which were hindering development works or obstructing traffic movement.

During a drive in Gorakhpur area, anti-encroachment squad in a joint drive with building department dismantled a number of permanent structures. Likewise, another team of anti-encroachment department conducted drive in Kachnar City and removed temporary structures.

Senior officials of the department informed that the JMC is proposed to widen Gorakhpur-Hathital road but some permanent structures situated adjacent to the road are hindering the works. Hence to remove the permanent structures, the anti-encroachment squad started drive dismantling the encroachments. On Monday, the squad razed a big shop and other small structures. Officials informed that the squad would continue the drive and would dismantle remaining structures including shops and boundary walls of some houses.

Likewise, another team of anti-encroachment department conducted drive in Kachnar city area and removed temporary structures like kiosks, make shift shops and handcarts. Officials informed that main road to Kachnar City was mushrooming with temporary structures. People had placed kiosks and make shift shops on the road. The encroachments were hindering traffic movement on the road. Hence to rid the main road of illegal structures, the squad conducted drive and removed encroachments.

It may be noted that the anti-encroachment department is constantly conducting drives to remove temporary as well as permanent structures which are hindering development works and traffic too. The anti-encroachment squad razing permanent structures and also removing and seizing kiosks, handcarts.

The squad also conducting drive in market places and issuing challans to erring shopkeepers who deck commodities on footpaths and roads and hinder traffic movement. Amongst those conducted the drive were Team Incharge, Vijay Verma, Laxman Kori, Raju Raikwar, Mukesh Paras, Narendra Kushwaha and others.
