Three hunters held with 150 kg skinned meat of animals

Three persons have been arrested by Talaiya Police in connection with hunting wild animals and transporting the meat in a car on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. However, two accused managed to flee from the spot.
About 150 kilogram skinned meat of wild animals, skins of spotted deer (cheetal), black buck and blue bulls were recovered from their possession. The accused were trapped early in the morning at Bharat Talkies. Police team also seized one 315 bore pistol and car.

Acting on a tip off, Talaiya Police, swung into action at around 1 am to trap the hunters at Kewara Ka Bag near Bharat Talkies. Actually, police teams were deployed for routine checking and in the meantime they received specific inputs about the transportation of black buck meat in a car.

They intercepted an Esteem car (MP-04 CA-4726). Three were arrested while another two managed to flee. In interrogation, they admitted that they hunted at Gulabganj forest in Vidisha district. Those who were arrested include Amir, 30, of Koh-e-Fiza, Sahwar Khan (Koh-e-Fiza) and Amir of Jahangirabad. They did not disclose where they used to dump such a huge chunk of meat of wild animals. They tried to contact their gang leader but none of them entertained their phone calls. ASP Zone-3 Rajesh Singh Bhadauriya said, “Police team deployed for checking in the night. They got the information about hunting. The team barricaded the route and intercepted the Esteem car. Two of the accused managed to flee. Police team swooped down. Three admitted that they had hunted wild animals, including spotted deer, black buck and blue bulls. Major chunk of 150 kilo meat was recovered with skins of wild animals. They have not disclosed where they used to dump the skinned meat of these wild animals.”
