Two arrested accused confess to acid attack on adolescent girls

Police have succeeded in apprehending the two accused in the case of acid attack on two adolescent girls reported under the jurisdiction of Gadasarai police station. The girls were targeted by a boy following one-sided affair with one of the two girls. The accused have been identified as Neeraj Kumar Padwar (21), son of Ganesh Prasad Padwar, a resident of village Kukadatola in Gadasarai and Chullu alias Bhimsen Mehra (22), son of Jagdish Prasad, a resident of village Alvar in Karanpathar. Superintendent of Police, Kartikeyn K disclosed this while addressing a press conference.

The SP informed that two minor aged girls were victimised in an acid attack by two miscreants on February 10. The incident took place when the two girls were returning after appearing for examination of class XII from Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Gadasarai. They were walking towards home when two unidentified motorcycle riders with faces faces covered with helmets and cloths and the vehicle number plate wrapped-up stopped them on the road. Before the adolescent girls learnt of their intentions, the two poured acid on them and managed to escape from the spot.
Gadasarai police had registered a case under sections 307, 326 and 34 of the IPC.

SP, Dindori, Kartikeyn K informed that taking a serious note into the case, police started a rigorous under the supervision of Additional SP, Sunita Rawat and detained the two suspects. During rigorous interrogation, the accused confessed to the incident. On their identification, police have seized a motorcycle, helmet and a bottle used in the attack.
