YC initiates hunger strike over non-fulfillment of demands

Highlighting various demands of the areas, Youth Congress, under the leadership of State General Secretary, Ankit Mishra repeatedly brought to the notice of authorities, but all to no avail. Protesting against continuous negligence on the part of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation towards justified demands raised by the Youth Congress, a hunger strike was initiated on Monday.

Youth Congress leader, Ankit Mishra informed that in order to protest the continuous ignorance and negligence towards demands of the locals raised by Youth Congress at regular intervals, the hunger strike has been initiated by the locals. “Mainly, we are demanding justified works that are basic needs of locals. Our demand is to roll back the Consumer cess being recovered in the name of door to door collection under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, to resolve water crises in Adharatal Division of JMC especially in Adhar Singh ward and Nirmalchand Jain ward, to complete work of road construction in Jawahar Nagar area after encroachments were removed, to develop proper cremation ground in Adhar Singh and Nirmal Chand Jain wards, to initiate action against contractor company L&T for sewage line, to maintain streetlights in Adhar Singh ward and Nirmal Chand ward, to initiate cleaning of different water bodies in both the wards in order to solve water crises in coming Summer season, to initiate inquiry in the ongoing publicity matter of Smart City.

Eminent those who sat on dharna hunger strike include Pushpa Sharma, Devidayal Chadda, Advocate Sharda Yadav, Manoj Verma, Shubham Pal. Those who supported the protest included Rakesh Tiwari, Girijashankar Patel, Jaimurti Mishra, Sushil Patel, P P Patel, K K Mishra, Jumman Sen, Durgesh Pal, Shobhit Raj Namdeo, Sikku Chaddha, Rukmani Choudhary, Anju Patel, Chandani Choudhary, Bajanti, Vandana Kori, Tulya Choudhary, Munni Bai Kori, Joy James, Amit, Chandan, Rohit, Anuj, Ajit, Roopesh Vishwakarma, Kamlesh Malviya and others.
