BSP SP-III employees press demands for redressal of standing grievances

THE employees from Sintering Plant-III, BSP accompanied by Hindustan Steel Employees Union (CITU) pressed demands for redressal of long standing grievances. The employees and the trade union members personally interacted with in-charge DGMs (Operation, Mechanical and Electrical) vehemently pressed demands for early redressal of grievances in the meeting held at Conference Hall in SP-II, BSP on Monday.

Ali Akbar, Secretary, Iron Zone, Hindustan Steel Employees Union (CITU) informed that the employees in a large number from SP-III, BSP agitated with long standing grievances sought the trade union support for necessary measures at the management level for early redressal of grievances.
He informed that the employees were pressing demands forimmediate necessary measures for ensuring facility of drinkable water, checking dust pollution, ventilator system, manpower crunch and toilet construction, constitution of canteen welfare committee etc.

While citing statements of employees from the BSP unit, Akbar informed that Machine-II was commissioned about three years ago but presently the strength of employees is 112 instead of 146 and similarly there are only 112 employees in Machine-I since superannuation of 32 employees during the year 2008. He alleged that in SP-III, the machine was being operated bypassing the system and also pressed demands for installation of CCTV cameras. Besides, the DPC was not conducted for the last four years as such grievances are communicated through Safety Committee at the department level but in absence of the committee the redressal measures were being procrastinated for considerable time.

The authorities concerned assured the employees and the trade union office bearers for conveying the authorities form the management regarding the long standing grievances for ensuring early redressal for the same.
