“IN Madhya Pradesh, the Congress is preparing for upcoming Assembly elections with fresh vigour and enthusiasm under leadership of AICC President Rahul Gandhi. We are all set to expose failures of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government in 14 years,” said MLA from Radhanpur, Gujarat, Alpesh Thakor while addressing a press conference during his short visit to the city while returning from Maihar on Tuesday. Alpesh Thakor had emerged as OBC face in Gujarat elections held recently.

He further added that in Madhya Pradesh population is 50 per cent and are being exploited for votes by the BJP since last three elections. In past three tenures representation of OBC in the Government administration was just 6 per cent, while socio-economic condition is also known to everyone now. Situation of farmers, unemployed, education unemployed, poor, women and children is also critical. Safety of women in Madhya Pradesh is a serious issue, while in child crime the State is amongst top states in the country. Criticising the State Government on condition of farmers, he said that farmers are committing suicide in Madhya Pradesh following increasing debts and losses in farming.

Thakor said Shivraj Singh Chouhan in past 13 years’ regime as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh has made over 3000 promises and only one per cent have been fulfilled. He said public of Madhya Pradesh in coming Assembly elections will teach BJP and its leaders a lesson for making false promises. Replying to a query about Congress party’s preparations for Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Thakor said that Congress has initiated preparations by constituting its organisational structure right from booth level and under leadership of Rahul Gandhi, the Congress will give a promising, democratic and transparent honest Government. In Madhya Pradesh, the party will make people aware, especially voters of OBC category, about the wrong promises made to them by BJP leaders.
