Staff Reporter,

Anil Deshmukh, former Minister and senior leader of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP); and Salil Deshmukh, youth leader of NCP, both toured Katol and Narkhed tehsils on Tuesday and visited the areas affected by hailstorm. After their tour, Deshmukhs urged the State Government to announce substantial aid to affected farmers.

Anil Deshmukh recalled that when hailstorm had hit Katol and Narkhed tehsils in the year 2014, the then Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan had announced aid to affected farmers without any ‘panchnama’. On the same lines, the present-day State Government should announce aid without waiting for any survey, he demanded. He sought Rs 50,000/- per acre aid for orange and mosambi crops, Rs 20,000/- per acre aid for wheat, gram, and vegetables. The villagers whose houses also got damaged due to unseasonal rainfall and hailstorm, also should be given aid, he added.

Anil Deshmukh requested Vilas Thakre, Sub-Divisional Officer, to conduct survey in Katol and Narkhed tehsils to assess the extent of crop damage. He visited Zilpa, Khapri Barokar, Ghubadmet, Gondi Mohgaon, Jhatamjhiri, Isapur, Sonoli, Mendki, Tapni, Agra, Mohgaon, Sawargaon, Malapur, Junona, Sindi Umri, Shembda, Pipla etc.

Salil Deshmukh also visited affected areas in Hatla, Dhalapur, Kukdi Panjra, Linga, Pardi, Sawali Parbat, Wandali Wagh, Gharatwada, Khutamba, Ladgaon, Kedarpur,
Parsodi, Murti, Chandanpardi, Chicholi, etc.
