Hailstorm, rains likely in some parts of State

Inclement weather conditions prevailed in Madhya Pradesh even on Tuesday as well. Rains, accompanied by thunder activities, drenched isolated parts of State. Weather Department has issued warning of hailstorm in sundry parts of Hoshagabad, Jabalpur and Shahdol divisions.

Rainfall activities are also likely at few places of Jabalpur, Hoshagabad, Shahdol and Rewa divisions and isolated places of Bhopal, Gwalior, Chambal and Sagar divisions. Light to medium fog is likely in some places of Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar and Hoshangabad divisions.

On Tuesday, rains lashed places such as Jabalpur, Damoh, Umaria, Seoni, Betul and some other places. Rains and thunder activities left people surprised and farmers under deep stress. Major rainfall figures recorded in last twenty four hours says that Naugaon and Rewa recorded rainfall of 2 cm each followed by Khajuraho, Umaria, Mandla, Rajnagar, Patan, Begumganj (1 cm each). Rains also drenched some parts of Bhopal division, Rewa division etc.

Weather department said that western disturbance got locked in hilly areas of North East Madhya Pradesh and under its effect rains and hailstorm activities are taking place in state. In comparison to last two days, system has become weak but rains and hailstorm are also likely in some parts of state on Wednesday as well.

On Tuesday, inclement weather conditions prevailed in Betul and seeing them, weather department has issued warning of hailstorm. Owing to cloudy weather, maximum temperatures have fallen down all over Madhya Pradesh. But minimum temperatures have soared everywhere. Bhopal’s maximum temperature settled at 22.5 degrees Celsius, 4 degrees below normal level.

Minimum temperature was recorded at 14.4 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees above normal.Jabalpur’s maximum temperature declined to 19.3 degree Celsius, 8 degree below normal level. Its minimum temperature was 15.8 degree Celsius, 4 degree above normal level. Khajuraho’s maximum temperature
was 21.2 degree Celsius. 6 degrees below normal.
