Forest team nabs eight poachers

A patrolling team of Forest Department succeeded in apprehending eight poachers and seized materials including aluminum wires, accelerator wires, ropes, axes and other materials used for poaching of wild animals in Karpa beat number PF-93 in village Tanvanar of Forest Circle Ahirgavan.
It may be noted that Forest Circle Ahirgavan has good density of wild boars, leopards, beers, Cheetal and other wild animals and a large number of poaching activities are regularly reported in the area. The accused have been identified as Lamu (45) of Bajari Agariya, Baisakhu Baiga (50), son of Lalman Baiga, Devsingh Gond (42), son of Titrasingh Gond, Samnu Baiga (39), Dhaniram Baiga (29), son of Samhar Baiga, Bhagwat Baiga (30), son of Rammilan Baiga and Sajan Singh Gond (32), son of Samnu Singh Gond, residents of (Loharin Tola) Karpa.

Divisional Forest Officer, Anuppur, Priyanshi Singh Rathore informed that taking a serious note on increasing number of poaching incidents, forest department started a special campaign to check poaching activities in the reserved forest area. During the campaign, they received information about group of suspected men involved in poaching. Acting promptly on the information, a patrolling team led by Ranger, Shivpujan Tripathi started a search and succeeded in apprehending eight men when they were laying down traps for poaching of wild animals. Forest team seized wires, traps, ropes and two axes from the accused.

Forest Department has registered a case under sections 2, 9, 39, 50, 51 and 52 under section Madhya Pradesh Wildlife Protection Act – 1972.The accused were apprehended with active working of forest team comprised of Brajbhan Adali, Devendra Kumar Pandey, Savitri Devi, Nafees Ahmed Ansari, Omprakash Dhurve, Ranvijay Singh, Umesh Sarthia and Ramgarib Baiga.
