Mandatory for all staffers to be at headquarters: ZP President

Nisha Sawarkar, President of Zilla Parishad (ZP), warned the officials and employees of ZP to remain present at given headquarters. She issued this warning during a meeting of Standing Committee of ZP on Thursday.


Sawarkar took stock of the presence of officials and employees at given respective headquarters. It came to fore that 90 per cent of the staffers did not stay at given respective headquarters in Panchayat Samiti and Gram Panchayat. Taking a serious note of this, she asked the administration to freeze increments of staffers not staying at given headquarters.


During the meeting, some members raised the issue of procurement of LED lights for various Gram Panchayats and alleged that there were irregularities in the purchase. ZP President asked the officials concerned to conduct probe in this regard. She also asked the officials to increase target for construction of housing units under Indira Awas Yojana. Besides, she directed the officials concerned to conduct a fresh survey regarding damage to cotton crop caused by bollworm.


An amount of Rs 1,42,72,085/- was sanctioned for water supply to 132 villages in Nagpur district, from District Mineral Foundation under Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana. Sawarkar also asked the administration to make an allocation of Rs 50,000/- for conducting agricultural meets in various tehsils.


Sharad Donekar, Vice-President of ZP; Ukesh Chauhan, Chairman of Finance and Education Committee; Deepak Gedam, Asha Gaikwad, Pushpa Waghade, all of them Chairpersons of various committees; Ruprao Shingne, Vijay Deshmukh, Varsha Dhopte, Manohar Kumbhare, Padmakar Kadu, Dnyaneshwar Kambhale, Sandhya Gotmare, all of them ZP members; and A B Kedar, Additional Chief Executive Officer, and heads of various departments attended the meeting.
