BMC container claims youth’s life; leaves another injured

A 22-year-old bike-borne youth sans helmet lost his life after his motorbike rammed into a roadside garbage container of Bhopal Municipal Corporation at Karond area under Nishatpura police station on Friday. Deceased lost control over the bike in a bid to save a pedestrian who was crossing the road.


According to investigation officer ASI S L Sharma, deceased is identified as Suneel, 22, son of Mishrilal Valmeek, who hails from Shanti Nagar in Mandideep, and here he lives in a rented accommodation behind Tanatan Dhaba at Ayodhya by-pass road. He works as a sweeper.


The incident took place on Friday at around 11 am while Suneel was heading toward Jail Road riding on his bike (MP-38 MG-9511) and suddenly a youth come in-front of his bike.


As the bike was at high speed, Suneel lost control over the bike and after hitting the youth, his bike rammed in a roadside garbage container of BMC. As Suneel didn’t wear helmet and his head was smashed with metal container, he sustained fatal wounds on his face and neck resulted in his death on the spot whereas another youth identified as Raman Sharma (24) of Sohagpur at Kolar Road sustained fracture in his leg.

A passer-by Hemraj then informed Dial 100 police after which police personnel reached the crime scene and sent body of deceased to post-mortem at mortuary of Hamidia hospital whereas injured is undergoing treatment at Global hospital where his condition is reported out of danger. Later, based on injured youth’s complaint, a case under sections 279 and 337 of the IPC has been registered against the deceased youth.
