National Lok Adalat to be organised on Feb 10

“Encouraging mediation process to resolve pending cases in courts through Lok Adalat as per programme initiate by the National Legal Service Authority, New Delhi on February 10, 2018 the National Lok Adalat would be organised in all the Courts from High Court, District Courts, Tehsil Courts, Labour Courts, Family Courts. The National Lok Adalat in Madhya Pradesh would be conducted under the direction of Justice Hemant Gupta, Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court and Chief Patron, MP State Legal Service Authority, Jabalpur and under the guidance of Justice A K Seth, Administrative Judge, MPHC and Executive Chairman, MPSLSA”, informed Member Secretary, MPSLSA, Brijendra Singh Bhadoria while addressing the press conference, on Friday.


Bhadoria added that in this National Lok Adalat cases that would be put up in the National Lok Adalat in different courts includes Criminal Cases, cases under Negotiable Instrument Act section 138, Bank recovery related cases, Motor Vehicle Accident and Claims cases, Labour Dispute Cases, Electricity and Water Tax, Marriage Cases, Land Acqucition cases, Service related cases, retirement case’s revenue cases onlyrelated to district and high court, Civil cases, besides this pre litigation, of Negotiable Instrument Act, Bank Recover and others would be tabled in the National Lok Adalat for settlement through mediation. MPSLSA Member Secretary, Bhadoria added that Lok Adalat is an instrument of settling cases through mediation by establishing mutual agreement amongst litigants. Through establishing win win situation for both parties through Lok Adalat the speedy justice is possible and it saves time and energy of litigants from heavy expenses of Courts. He further said to create awareness amongst masses an extensive public awareness drive would be initiated by MPSLSA. In this drive across Madhya Pradesh various programs like seminars, talks, legal services and awareness camps would be organised by MPSLSA. Bhadoria added that in the coming National Lok Adalat on February 10, 2018 around 1,25,291 cases at pre-litigatoin level and around 1,61,141 cases referred by Court that is total of 2,86,432 cases would be put up in Lok Adalat. He appealed people to participate in Lok Adalat and the court fees deposited would be reimbursed. While special rebates, concession on monitory penalty and fine would also be rebated.
