New MPPGCL MD Nanda emphasises on team work

ANOOP Kumar Nanda assumed charge as new Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited (MPPGCL) on Tuesday. He is former Executive Director of National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC). New MD of MPPGCL Nanda laid emphasis on team work for achieving set targets, disciplined work culture with efficiency and hard work for desired development of the company.

Nanda has rendered his services for 36 years on various posts in NTPC and has also executed several projects of construction, management, project planning, production, project management, procurement and contract management. He also has experience of project construction, establishment, commissioning and operation of thermal and hydel power stations. He has completed BSc (Electrical) degree from Veer Surendra Bhai University of Technology (Burla-Odisha) and started career as Deputy Manager of NTPC in 1981.

During his service tenure, A K Nanda played a key role in construction, establishment and commissioning of 5 x 210 MWs and 2 x 500 MWs Singrauli STPS, 6 x 500 MWs Talchar STPS, Unit-7 of 500 MWs at Korba TPS and 2,320 MWs Mauda STPS. In 2017, Nanda was honoured with second prize at the hands of President of India on the occasion of Energy Conservation Day for Mauda STPS. He is accredited for efficient management as Project Head of NTPC’s first 800 MWs Koldam hydel power station.
