Artist Om Pandey’s painting expo begins

Marking 50th anniversary of Foundation of Mitra Sangh, paintings of senior artist Om Pandey were displayed during three-day exhibition being organised at Rani Durgavati Museum. The exhibition was inaugurated on Sunday and will remain open for art lovers to visit. Mayor Dr Swati Godbole was present as chief guest in the programme.

Founder of Mitra Sangh Ajit Verma demanded the Mayor to establish an art gallery where paintings, sculptures and other creative works of senior artists of the city can be kept forever. He also demanded to organise an exhibition with name ‘Shaheed Deergha’ to display martyrs from Jabalpur who laid down their lives for the motherland at the border, under Smart City Scheme.

Mayor Dr Swati Godbole announced to provide all possible support to promote art activities in the city. She further assured to make a plan for permanent gallery for local artists and Martyr Gallery under Smart City.

Extending her best wishes on the occasion of 50th foundation anniversary of Mitra Sangh, Mayor Dr Godbole appreciated paintings of Om Pandey. Head, Faculty of Art, Government Mohanlal Hargovind Das Home Science and Science College, Dr Kiran Suklane, senior literatteur, Rajendra Tiwari, Rishi, Abhimanyu Jain, photographer, Mukul Yadav, Sanjeev Choudhary and Sharanjeet Singh expressed their views on the creative work of Om Pandey. Earlier, invited guests were accorded warm welcome by Paritosh Verma. The programme was compered by Sacchidanand Shekatkar, while Dr Abhijaat Krishna Tripathi proposed a vote of thanks.
