Forest Deptt adopts innovative modules to train field staffers

EMPOWERING field employees is the new mantra of Madhya Pradesh Forest Department to take benefits of National Tiger Estimation-2018 in the long run to improve forest and wildlife management in the State. Forest Department has made several changes in traditional training exercises of employees and adopted innovative modules for quality training. Right before start of National Tiger Estimation-2018, an orientation programme for PCCF and APCCF rank officers posted in State headquarters was organised at Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary.

Officers were given presentation by field officers and detailed them about technical know-hows of tiger estimation. It was the first time when field employees including SDOs, Deputy Rangers and Forest Guards delivered information of their expertise before senior officers and also replied their queries. Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Wildlife)Jitendra Agrawal while talking to ‘The Hitavada’ informed that the department is trying to cope with traditional practices and efforts are being made to empower field employees for better wildlife and forest management.

The training will not be restricted to tiger estimation but it will be continued further for better wildlife monitoring and forest activities and management of reserved forest areas. New format will develop a sense of responsibility amongst field employees and motive them towards implanting best practices in forest and wildlife management, he added.
