People working against malnutrition feted

Responsible citizens, who are rendering contribution to make malnourished children healthy by adopting them, were felicitated during the district-level Sneh Sarokar Karyakram on Saturday at Municipality community hall.

MLA, Sandeep Jaiswal, Mayor Shashank Shrivastava and Jila Panchayat President, Mamta Patel were present. The programme was inaugurated with lighting of traditional lamp at the hands of invited dignitaries.
Addressing the district-level event, MLA Jaiswal appealed to people to come forward to transform lives of needy and under-privileged children for the best.

Citing his example, MLA Jaiswal gave example of Sanjana Yadav of Jhinjhari who was adopted by him. MLA Jaiswal provided Sanjana’s family all required help to ensure her better care. During Deepawali, the entire family of MLA visited Sanjana’s home and after observing her better health, they all felt great satisfaction.

MLA Jaiswal asked the officers of Woman and Child Development Department to implement the Sneh Sarokar Abhiyan in a well-planned manner. Whenever any malnourished child would be adopted, regular monitoring of the child’s growth and weight should be conducted. The common public should be motivated to adopt such
needy children.

Jila Panchayat President, Mamta Patel while explaining about various facilities being available for malnourished children in the Nourishment Rehabilitation Centre, said that the malnourished children are served with nutritious diet at NRC centers under proper monitoring of doctors.
Later, the guests honoured the citizens who have adopted malnourished children by presenting shields and certificates.
Earlier, the district programme officer, Integrated Child Development Service, Pratibha Pandey briefed about the programme.

Others who were present on this occasion included Janpad Panchayat vice-president, Sunendra Pandey, Jila Panchayat members, Janpad Panchayat members, corporators and other departmental officers.
