SEFI Office bearers meet Union Minister for Steel

The Union Minister for Steel, Choudhari Virendra Singh, while being apprised about the present scenario of SAIL by the office bearers of SEFI, was specifically assured by them that they will initiate for increasing the production of all units under SAIL. They also apprised the minister about the hurdle being caused owing to ‘DPE’s Affordability Clause’ in clearing the pending issues regarding Pension Scheme, and also insisted him for discussing the issue regarding removal of Affordability Clause in the Cabinet meeting. SEFI office bearers also appealed the Union Minister for changing the designations of executives and increasing their pay scales— par with those executives from other PSUs in the country. They specifically requested for granting the similar leave facilities to the executives from Works and non-Works units and also for sorting out the anomalies in the pay scales of junior executives at the earliest.

The Union Minister for Steel listened with full concern all the issues informed by SEFI office bearers and assured them for initiating positive measures for the redressal of their grievances. SEFI office bearers were also directed for increasing the production and were also granted permission for visiting Raurkela Steel Plant.

SEFI office bearers present during the meeting with UNION Minister for Steel were SEFI President Bakshi K.P.Prasad, General Secretary Narendra Kumar Banchhor and President of Officers Association-R S P Vimal Vishi.
