Consolidation of the intelligence network through civic action activities and bolstering the security on porous interstate
borders were some of the most crucial issues deliberated up on as Inspector General of Police Durg Range G P Singh held meeting with the police officers of Kawardha and Rajnandgaon during his visit to the Kawardha District.

“Better policing could only be established with the cooperation of the Citizens, for which police needs to behave courteously with people along with hold charitable medical camps,” IG Singh stated and stressed on connecting the youths to the ‘Aastha’ Abhiyaan. He also directed Superintendents of Police (SPs) of both the districts to increase police visibility. The SPs and Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOPs) shall visit the fields and police station to ensure basic policing.

Civic action programmes such as sports, medical camps and awareness campaign should be carried out to reinforce the intelligence network and to run publicity campaign through mediums of flex and pamphlets.IG instructed the Station House Officers (SHOs) and Senior Officers for giving special attention on law & order, camp/post security and VIP security.

It’s often seen that inter-state borders are rife with liquor smugglers, which should cracked down with heavy hands. The region shares border with Naxal infested regions of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh (MMC).Police personnel/officers of both the districts also submitted with IG Singh the suggestions regarding police welfare. According to the suggestions, SPs will establish Police Cooperative Bank, Gas Agency and Police Canteen in their respective districts.
