The 21-year-old journalism student, who was granted bail by Additional District and Sessions Judge S B Sahu on Monday, was released from Bhopal Central Jail on Tuesday evening. Talking to reporters outside the jail, the student claimed that injustice had been done to her and she is innocent. “I want justice,” she said.

After release from Central Jail, she was taken to women’s police station by its SHO Shikha Bais while maintaining distance from mediapersons. From there the girl directly reached at Patrakar Bhawan where she interacted with journalists for the first time after remaining 13 days in judicial custody.

The girl stated that neither had she blackmailed Congress MLA Hemant Katare nor she extorted money from him. Instead she was threatened by Katare and was offered to accept cash by Vikramjeet in lieu of terminating their relationship secretly to which she denied.

On January 24, Katare called her over phone and told that she wanted to meet her after which she reached MP Nagar area unaware of the fact that MLA Katare with the help of crime branch laid a trap for her. Katare had brought a bag carrying Rs 5 lakh cash along with himself in his car with which sleuths of crime branch arrested her. All this done was a part of conspiracy hatched by Katare along with sleuths of crime branch to frame her in false case of extortion.

In front of mediapersons, the journalism university’s girl student with tears in her eyes levelled serious allegations on officials of Crime Branch, including ASP (Crime) Rashmi Mishra. She added that crime branch policemen had abused her whereas ASP Mishra after assuring from victim that whether she was sexually exploited by Katare, instead of offering helping hand to her asked her not to disclose it outside as well as in front of mediapersons. She also alleged that it was officials of crime branch who asked her to make another video by her in which she was asked to accept that Katare is innocent and all the allegations which she levelled on him in first video made by her were baseless and it was just a ‘prank video’ that went viral on social media after her arrest.

Replying to a question that when she came in contact with MLA Katare in September last year in connection with a group-‘Youth Mange Azadi’ made by college students, in the event of this group several politicians of opposition including Congress MLA from Ater constituency was also invited.

Katare called the victim at his Juna gym, Arera Colony, where he outraged her modesty and also captured video of the act as well as clicked her objectionable pictures with the help of which he continued to blackmail her and raped her on several occasions in Bhopal as well as outside State capital.
As she belonged to a middle class family as her mother had separated from her father therefore she didn’t mustered courage to report matter with police looking after his political height. However, when she was arrested by crime branch and later she was sent to judicial custody, she decided to lodge a complaint against MLA Katare and with the help of Central Jail Superintendent, she sent a written complaint to DIG Dharmendra Choudhary and a case on charges of rape was registered at Women’s Police Station. She also demanded police security for her as well as family.

Earlier to the release of girl student, her mother spoke to mediapersons and alleged that after her daughter was sent to jail, MLA Katare sent three persons at her home who posed self as crime branch officials who took her at his residence where they forced her to sign on an affidavit and later they made a video of her in car at gun-point and told what she was asked to say in-front of camera. She also alleged that Katare had ruined life of her meritorious daughter as well as spoiled their image in society. Their landlord also asked them to vacate the rented accommodation in which they live after the incident came to light.
